Impact

TBG could lead to improved sources and detectors in the THz band while opening the door to tuneable detection or emission across the complete infrared to THz spectrum. Such a device would be able to lead to improved detection capabilities for imaging and spectroscopy and better source and detection integration. The miniaturization of this device would in turn lead to cost reduction and related improved market penetration in many existing or even new applications.
